It can also cause high fever, liver and kidney damage and convulsions, affect the nerve center, and can be fatal. Boric acid can also cause a bright red skin rash or even exfoliative dermatitis. In addition, oral boric acid is easy to be absorbed by damaged skin and cause long-term poisoning. A small amount of boric acid is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract or skin, which can cause dermatitis, baldness, liver and kidney damage and even chronic poisoning.
